As the Electro Swing dance craze continues to percolate across Europe
and beyond, London's answer to the Anthill mob, Grand St, join forces
with Brighton 'bearcat' Phillipa Alexander for a lollapalooza of a
dancefloor smash titled 'Joe Palooka'... It's the cats pyjamas! 'Joe
Palooka' was a 1930's US comic star who was a bit of a loser by all
accounts. Phillipa clearly has one thing sweet thing on her mind and
that's Mazuma.."Just show me the money!" Making a grand entrance, 'Joe
Palooka' kicks off with an instantly infectious brass hook performed by
the a true sax tzar, Finn Peters, who delivers all the extra jazz genius
trimmings over Grand St's swinging electro-boogiewoogie groove, topped
off with Phillipa's sassy vocal. Also featured on the package is the
highly acclaimed arty odball of electronica, The Real Tuesday Weld, who
fires up a proper feel-good gypsy knees up; and Deep Architecture (Si
Christophers of Grand St) switches up, delivering a
quirky dubstep outing riddled with bass filth and cut up vocals.
